Comment: How low can it go (the Loonie that is)?
While Canadian pundits debate the benefits of a strong Loonie versus weak, Canadian businesses and entrepreneurs are rapidly climbing back on the bandwagon to sell their Canadian and imported products in the United States. While hovering near par for several years, the loonie has settled near $.90 US for most of 2014. This means that a sale for $100 US can magically turn into $110 when deposited into a Canadian bank account. It's certainly not clear how long this will last, but interest in the USA market is certainly ramping up for the fall and winter selling season. One opinion can be found in this Financial Post article.
